Climate Combat - AR App

The initial idea came about when trying to figure out how to use AR to enhance a certain aspect in today’s society. We were a small team that felt strongly about climate change, so we decided to educate the younger generation about climate change through an interactive and immersive medium. Climate change is a big issue and we decided to utilise Unity3D and the Vufora SDK to visualise the idea. 

The approach was to use a RAD (rapid application development) methodology in order to create, design and developed instances of the proposed AR application. Through several interactions, the design was adjusted based on user feedback and deep research. The use of AR was to increase the level of perception of climate change but using gamification to add that level of engagement to the audience.

A polished prototyped was developed and the game had one solid level built. Social integration was used to enable users to share their score and login with Facebook. We got in touch with WWF and Greenpeace UK and showed them the prototype and our vision behind it. We were in the stages of taking the application further but due to time and other projects let it remain as a prototype.
